At 4????

So as everyone knows Princess started Preschool this year. Well Ms Wonderful is SO wonderful that by the end of the 2nd week of school Princess could tie her shoes. Yep thats right. My 4 yr old knows how to tie her shoe. I of course can take NO credit for this but hey who care right. I am so proud of her.

Using Daddy's knee.

Over and under.

Pull it through.

Wrap again.

Double knot to keep it tight.

Sorry for being MIA

Life has been crazy around here. To get ready to go to my sister's next month I have a ton of assignments and quizes to finish before the 9th. So every free moment has been doing that. I finally have a chance to sit and take a break so I can blog, blog, blog. LOL It's been so bad that I haven't even made it over to check out my favs. UGH Not enough time in the day. So stop on by - I promise there will be more to see.

Holly

Isn't she beautiful....

She's a MOMMY!

My sister is a mommy. *SOB*

Chloe Jeanne was born at 10:09 PM 28 Sept 2008. She is 7lbs .63oz and 20 1/2 inches.

This is what happens when you DTD and then when you DTD while pg you go into labor and end up with this:

I bet J is happy he got his wish and she came on the weekend. Unfortunally not soon enough so he wouldn't have to miss work tomorrow. OPPS.

Here are the proud parents! (Sorry pics are from a cell phone and I'm still waiting on the nice cleaned up cute ones LOL)

Nevermind

The previous blog.

DC Mom is wonderful but has things going on. Lets just leave it as the "ex" is not okay.

I talked her and got more on the reasons why. It's not me AT ALL. She knows this is a better place for her and she wants to keep her here but can't.

I feel better.

I also feel sad that she has to deal with this.

Not happy...

So DC Mom called me tonight to inform me that her 4 yr old will start Preschool at the end of the month. Her 2 1/2 yr old will stay here though. Um yeah because I am not completely insulted by this. HELLO I haven't been teaching your 4 yr old for the last 2 wks? I mean she knows how to write her name but I had NOTHING to do with this and she isn't learning here.

What do I have to do to get people to understand that I AM NOT A BABYSITTER!!!! I run a PRESCHOOL PROGRAM and the only reason I took your 2 1/2 yr old was to be nice since she was the same age as a child I already have enrolled. I only want 3 and over - the list you got my name off of even said this and YOU KNEW I was looking only for over 3. So take away the 4 yr old but leave me the 2 1/2 yr old. Um NOT OKAY.

I need calls. AGAIN! UGH!

I remember...

Seven years ago I was on a walk with 3 young kids (the boys and a daycare kid) when Chef drove up in the CE truck. "The twin towers were hit by a plane." he says "Really??" is my reply. Little did I know. Soon after we arrived back home. I turned on the tv.

*I stood there in disbelief.*

I couldn't fathum what this meant. What is going on? Why are so many gone. What will happen now? I am sure ALL of us thought and felt this way. I held my 9mth old son in my arms. I watched my 2 yr old playing in the playroom with his 2 yr old friend. What will happen to my family? We're military as many of you know. I had visions of my husband leaving.

That hasn't happened so far. I have watched too many friends husbands leave. I have sat with them while we waited for them to return home. Safe. Sound. Whole. I am thankful for them. I rejoice when they come home. I see too many who do not. I ache for them.

Do I think the war is pointless? No, I am a military wife and veteran. This war was coming. You only have to think about today to know. We are doing the right thing.

I will never forget!

Not a good way to start the week...

So E1 and E2 come in like 10mins before I have to go - still doing Princess's hair.

I tell E2 to go potty - she goes in there but she won't get on so I check her cause I am rushing now. Her pullup is soaked. YEP thats right her NIGHT time pull up is still on!! This of course means her pants are wet all along the back. Change her.

Rush through doing Princess's teeth. Wash her face. Then I tell everyone to get coats on.

"Her nose." I hear from M1. "Huh" - me

YEP Princess's nose is bleeding. Rush to get her cleaned up, shove TP up her nose. Scrub her Green Bay Cheerleading (they play tonight) outfit with a wipie.

THROW coats on. Rush out the door. Open van door. NO CARSEATS! (Damnit Chef!)

Open the garage - yell at Ramsey to stay - grab 3 carseats close garage. Throw carseats in the van, throw girls in the van (Princess still has TP up her nose).

Tell boys to walk to the bus stop - no room in van for them. They walk and I drive over. Get there the bus is pulling up. Yell at boys to hurry up.

FINALLY off to drop Princess off - relaxing - dealing with it. Drop her off. Talk to Ms. Wonderful for a min.

Get to van to move M1 up to Princess's carseat.

"M2 broke her glasses" quietly from M1. "WHAT??????!!!!!!!!!!!???????????" I SPAZ out.

Move M1. Drive home in a panic. Tell Chef, who is home now from PT. Call Mom of M1 and M2. No answer. Oh crap oh crap oh crap!

Phone rings *sigh* it's mom. I explain what happened.

"Oh that okay they are insured. I should of warned you that she gets bored in the car. No problem she has another pair." we hang up.

I DIE!

Can I have a drink? (yes I know it was only about 8:30 am at this point)

They are one of a kind.

So Stacy posted about how you can check to see how many of "you" there are in the U.S.

I went here to check it out. Go ahead and try it yourself.

There are 178,469 people in the U.S. with the first name Holly.
Statistically the 340th most popular first name.
More than 99.9 percent of people with the first name Holly are female.

There are 6,895 people in the U.S. with the last name "Lastname"
Statistically the 5246th most popular last name. (odd thing is - they are ALL related to Chef)

There are 4 people in the U.S. named Holly "Lastname". (WOW very random and wouldn't of believed it.)

There are 1 or fewer people in the U.S. named Chef. (He is one of a kind - of course I knew that)

There are 1 or fewer people in the U.S. named "LittleMan Lastname". (another one of a kind)

There are 1 or fewer people in the U.S. named "Monkey Lastname". (I'm seeing a pattern here)

There are 1 or fewer people in the U.S. named "Princess Lastname". (Four for four)

Well shucks - at least there are 4 of me. Wonder if they counted the voices in my head for this?

Letting sleeping dogs lie...

In case you miss it. I have posted a million blogs tonight (okay 6) to share all of these wonderful camping pics that I promised you. Here are the links to the previous ones...

camping 2
camping 3
camping 4
camping 5

So the kids couldn't wait to get to bed Friday night. We soon found out though that it was COLD at night. Princess ended up in bed with Chef and I. In fact it was so cold I couldn't sleep unless Chef was in bed (he went night fishing). I would sleep between Princess and Chef (they were both toasty warm all night).

On Saturday I had taken Princess down to take a shower and then Chef and the boys left. I couldn't leave the fire to put her to bed so this is where she went to sleep.

Ramsey Donner - our puppy...LOL okay so he isn't a puppy he will be 9yrs old on Christmas. That's 63 dog years. Can't tell can you. Nah neither can we.

Although he acted like a typical old man in the water. He wouldn't go any farther then here. Molly, the golden lab friend he made, was 9 (63) as well and she out swam him like crazy. Guess he didn't want to get his tail wet. Vain boy.

Random pics from our trip.

I guess everything doesn't have a story huh. Here are some pics I love.

Over in this direction is our campsite. Yeah I am not sure where either. Chef and Little Man were fishing so we were by the lake.

After the tire swing fun the kids were thirsty.
While Little Man and Chef fished Monkey and Princess played in the water and sand (read mud).

The open flame...

What are you doing daddy?

Yummy smores!

Yummy banana boats!

A couple nights later Princess tried her hand at chopping the wood. A girl's work is never done is it.

Welcome...

Welcome to our campsite. Come on in and make yourself at home.

We love houseguests. Doesn't he look sweet. I asked him to wipe his feet but then he gave me this stare. Typical.

Dinner guests are welcome as well. Only I wish this one had used his silverware instead of is hands. Oh well I guess it's okay we're camping you know.

Our casa is your casa!

Whew we're here!

So Chef waited until the last minute to get us a campsite. Typical huh. Labor day weekend and HELLO I know there is no way we'll find a site and we will have 3 ticked off kids. UGH! We got lucky though and some cancelled at 11Mile. Off we went hoping to beat everyone there who might be trying to snag a last minute site.

WHEW! We got it! An awesome site at that. We had room for 4 tents if wanted but of course we were alone this time...

or were we. While I put together a snack for the kiddos (and me I was famished) and Chef ran down to grab some wood for the fire later on I had a couple vistor's. They said the campsite was thiers and they had already set up thier tent. (Did you see a tent in that first pic? Well of course not cause there isn't one....oh wait it's WAY up in the rocks off to the left of that pic. I had no idea it was with this site - there are sites all over) So they rush down to meet Chef at the reservation office. Nope sorry the site is ours.

See this couple failed to place thier permit in the handy dandy little site marker and the Ranger assumed it was available and gave it to us. Well so now it's ours (good thing since we were ALL set up by this time - we had been there 2 hours) but they were nice and found another location for the other couple. (btw - our site was better - they had no rocks or tree's on thier new site - shhh)

A camping we will go...

All packed up and ready to go. You coming? I know you've waited all week for this so lets head out okay.

Happy Birthday

To CHEF!!! Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeffffffffffff. Happy Birthday to you.

The man only wants one thing (no not that - well that but shh thats later). He wants CARROT CAKE. I figrue why not share it with you all too. Cause I am just all sweet like that you know.

So here's what you need: 2 c of flour , 2 c of sugar, 3 tsp of Cinnamon, 1 tsp of salt, 1 1/2 c veggie oil, 4 eggs, 3 c grated carrots, 1 c chopped nuts (we're using almonds) and 1 tsp of vanilla. If you are at a high alt (like me) I suggest adding an additional 4 tbls of flour. Yes I have more carrots then that but see by the time I thought to take picks I had already mixed them in. OPPS.

Shift all of the dry ingrediants together. Stir in the oil and adding one egg at a time mix well. Add in the carrots, nuts and vanilla and mix. Here it is....doesn't it look yummy. Well it obviously can't cook in this so...

"Hello lover. What do you have for me today?" I like to use this naughty little bunt pan for my carrot cake. It makes it look pretty and all fancy like. LOL We're all about fancy around here.

Much better. Now we can get cooking. At 350 degrees for about 60mins folks.

Oh man the poor bowl is feeling lonely now. Good thing I can resue her for the frosting later today.

I will be back to add on when the cake is finished baking and I get the frosting all made and the cake all dressed. No nekkid cakes around here please. So come on back!

I'M BACK!!!!!

Okay so on to the oh so yummy frosting. *drool*

Here's what you need. One 8oz pkg of Cream Cheese, 2 c of Powdered Sugar (yes it IS walmart brand - keeping it real here people), 1 tsp of vanilla extract and 2 tbls of butter.

Toss them together and mix well. (I use a glove to sqwish it all together cause a spoon ain't cutting it) Here you have it. Makes a lot I tell you.

Slap that sucker on top of the cool carrot cake (I have done it while still warm before - it just makes the frosting nice and runny - which is all good too) Chef and I don't do sweets all that much so thats why there doesn't seem to be a ton of frosting on the cake - there isn't and it's okay if you're into that you can add more. Sprinkled some of the extra carrots on top.

Look at that baby. YUM!

Well off to celebrate Chef's bday with him. Have a great Friday y'all.
