My Monkey being...a monkey. This is why I love this kid. Earlier this summer he asked me why does he always end up hurt in some way (scratches, bruises, etc.). Um kid.....THIS would be why (and Ms R...he friend/girlfriend).

The Princess started gymnastics again (along with Monkey). THIS is why. She's taking after her brother and is not afraid to do ANYTHING. I've got pictures of her trying to flip on the bars as well...you know...those bars that are twice as tall as her...yeah. (Yes, that is her...in the middle doing the splits that make my legs ache)

Today was Middle School Orientation for Little Man. It's not fair. Mom is NOT happy about this. I mean why should I be...first this, then dances, then girls calling (oh wait - they already do)...next thing I'll know he'll be in HIGH SCHOOL. *sob* We took him on a tour to find his classes...there are THREE buildings he will have to find he way to in one short day.

Football!!

We've had an issue this last month with Little Man and football. He really wanted to play tackle and we thought we had it all lined up for him but it just didn't work out. So instead he is playing Flag Football again but in his words, "Mom, I just want to play." That's my boy!

Look a jersey that FITS! So exciting! LOL

He has been loving practices because he knows the coach and a bunch of the guys on the team. He said Coach T has said he'll most likely play Wide Receiver. Awesome.

First time on the school bus.

It's the 2nd day of school and Princess will ride the bus for the first time. Does she look ready. LOL She says "Mom, I look like the BOYS today." LOL Don't worry it was a good thing.

Walking to the bus stop.

Waiting not so patiently for the bus.

Getting on the bus. *sob*
On the bus - she sits with H and S and loves it.

After her first day on the bus the Princess had a talk with me. She informed me that she didn't want me to pick her up from the school because she wants to ride the bus everyday. I said okay you can ride the bus everyday to which she replied "Good, cause I will be checking."

Yes, ma'am.

First Day of School.

The rugrats went back to school last week and let me tell you *I* was ready! LOL This was a long and busy summer but it is nice to get back into a routine. Plus it brings us closer to the day Daddy comes home. :-)

Speaking of here they are talking to him on the phone while they had breakfast.

My big wonderful Little Man on his way to his last year in Elementary school.
5th grade!

Monkey headed off to 3rd grade. He has turned in to such a wonderful student and couldn't wait to get started.

The Princess is off to KINDERGARTEN!

My babies are so big...their first and last year all at the same school together.
Princess waiting outside her school to go in. She was so excited!
She wouldn't let me walk "with" her but I could go ahead and come in anyways she said but I couldn't walk "with" her. LOL
Sitting pretty at her desk. So ready for the new experiences and fun she is going to have.
They all lined up at the front of the room to listen to the "Kissing Hand" being read by the Vice Principal of the school. She was wondering if I was going to leave yet. LOL In fact when the Principal got on the loud speaker and asked us to leave she couldn't wait to get rid of me. *sob* Ms Wonderful (her prek teacher) did a wonderful job preparing her for the separation.

They SURVIVED!

* fixed it - thank you!

She loves her brothers

So today was the first snowfall (the other's were just dustings) for us of this year. FINALLY - I mean WHY live in the mountains if you can't depend on the season's to get you in the Holiday mood. LOL
(Of course we had plans to travel to Littleton today - yeah so of COURSE it would snow today so that we weren't able to go)

All was not lost though and our kids had fun anyways.

This why the Princess has two big brothers. Free rides!

Check back - I'm going to post our Christmas tree tomorrow.

Hello?Hello?

"Okay everyone you better behave today. Thank goodness you have school. Hey get over here. Are you listening? Stop picking on your sister. No acting up while we have guests. No I don't know if they will still be here when you get home. Just plan on being good. Where's my straightening iron??? Oh there it is. Okay hurry everyone. They are on thier way! Remember what I said. Do I look okay?"

"Hey SITSta's! Welcome to my little corner of bloggy land. I hope you find everything to your liking. I'm headed out to go camping with the family tomorrow (That's good blog fodder) So if I don't get over to your place to say Thank You just remember I will as soon as possible. I hope you all enjoy your visit and your long weekend! Be safe and have fun. *MUAH* Help yourself to anything you find....just no long distance calls please."

So today has just been one thing after another. We got up and I took the Princess to Gymnastics.

Chef took the boys to their first Baseball game. Apprently they had a BLAST and he took pictures but since he left for an overnight camping trip I don't have those pictures. Hopefully you'll get them tomorrow. HECK hopefully I'll get to SEE them tomorrow too.

So since Chef was running off I was going to take the kids to see KungFu Panda and lunch. We decided to head to lunch while there I tried calling Sara. Well she wasn't answering her cell (avoiding me???) so I tried her "home" number. A guy answers and says she is sleeping. Um okay just have her call me (brat) So then "Sara" calls me back. We converse a few mins.... "Just calling to see if you still wanted to go to the movies (me)? "Oh I wish I could but I'm busy today (I start thinking "Sara" sounds "funny") "Oh too bad okay well I'll talk to you later." (me) Okay bye ("Sara") Immediately after I get a text msg from.... SARA. Um okay werid. She says that she has a sinus headache and missed me call. (HUH?) So eventually I ask her if we JUST talked on the cell. She says no.

Yep thats right folks - I called some "Sara" and invited her to go to the movies with my children and me. Um the other "werid" part of this is that the "home" number I called was in fact Sara's (the one I know) previous home number. So (still with me?) her old number was given to ANOTHER Sara. Werid huh.

Anyways so after all that and the movies (funny btw). We went to Tarjay and picked up a new bookcase. Came home and I put it together. Then rearranged the playroom. (YES AGAIN) Needless to say we all stayed up late. Since I'm such a wonderful mom I gave my kids PB&J for dinner since they had a great lunch at Mimi's and tons of popcorn oh and a HUGE can of Pringles(each). Hand me my award!

Pink Handed

Today is the day to catch my children "pink" handed (instead of red handed - go with me here).

First Little Man is caught in having downloaded games and songs onto his cell phone (which btw is only for him to carry while out riding his bike or when he being sat for). At first I thought there was just NO WAY he did this. Nope he said yes he downloaded games and he even showed me how he did it! WHAT - no one showed you? No he kept telling me. So I brought up the cell phone bill. Showed him his phone number and the charges. Then I was evil and made him pay me for them. A total of $25.00 for a hard life lesson learned. He wasn't too happy about that but I can garuntee he won't do it again.....at least not until 15 or 16 when he has a real cell phone.

The Princess was up in her room playing when she brought down her ever present bear, a notepad and a mini marker. She requested help with something and as we were discussing her hand having pink marker all over it and how she got it that way I glanced at her bear.....I took it from her and what did I find. A pink "Hello Kitty" on her bears tshirt. (umm just a hint - it was white).

Me - Did you color Hello Kitty?
Princess - Yes
M - why?
P - cause she needed to be pink
M - go get me the wipes
Chef - well I dunno (he had been watching)
M - At least she stayed in the lines.
We busted out laughing. Hello Kitty now only has a tinge of pink on her.

Princess returns with the wipes.

M - Go wash your hands (she ran off to do it)
P - It won't come off - I use water and it won't come off.
M - Did you use soap?
P - shakes her head no with the "look" on her face

So sad....

I'm home. LOL My lovely vacation is over and I have returned to work. Not too bad in that I have a great group. Just the idea of work is blah. So here are some pictures for you to enjoy. Those that I have yet to post from my week getaway. Enjoy!

We ran to the store and came to find the kids doing this. Looks fun!

You try getting 7 kids to look at you AND smile.

You'd think he drove

We left my Stacy's this morning to return home to Colorado.

After a million hours Chef finally decides we should stop for the night. "Cause the boys asked him to" he claims. Um okay whatever. This is after him saying all day that we will drive straight through. Princess was mad at him since she wanted her own bed tonight.

So we're here in Hays, KS. They are all watching TV (like they haven't been doing THAT all day) when we glance over to find this:

You'd of thought he did all the driving. LOL

He has come a long way...

Anyone who knows us knows how last year was a difficult year school wise for Monkey. He had lazy and unattentive teacher's who felt that all the issues were Monkey (not saying he can't be difficult) and not the fact that they didn't give a shit or the fact that he was in K with 26 wild arse kids and had not one moments peace. Anyhoo....fast forward to 1st grade. I met with his new teacher with nervousious(is that a word) and I was unsure how this year would be

(I should mention here that the teachers last year PUSHED me until I had him diagnosed and medicated for ADHD - which I hated because while I understand the needs for these drugs in some children they just weren't right at that time for Monkey - if I hadn't had him medicated they were threatening to put in his permemant record that he was disruptive and a bad child- yes I am serious here not making it up) It was a mess. Again off topic...

I spoke to his teacher this year Ms. B and explained that over the summer I worked with him on self control and using his words to express himself when upset. I informed her that I had him off meds the entire summer and wished to keep him off. Though I had put him on them again for the first week of school before I met with her. She suggested we continue for another couple weeks and then take him off of the meds for good. She also stated as a teacher it was HER JOB (shock right) to deal with children with ADHD and teach them how to behave.(yes you read that right - she said it too) I was fine with this. I checked in with her a few weeks later and she said she didn't notice a difference in his behaviors on the meds or off except he is touchie feelie more.

So yesterday we communicated by email about him a little boy coloring on each others pants. Once we were finished I shot her a msg back asking if there were any tips or suggestions I could give his 2nd grade teacher to keep him on task and focused in class.

He will be bringing home a math book with lots of pages in addition and subtraction. Also I will send home his grammar book with him. There are great websites too. They are on McAuliffe’s website. Go to classroom links and each grade level has wonderful links.

I think the only thing I really do as far as behavior is redirect him or I look at him and make eye contact. Proximity works too. Overall he is well-behaved so I don’t have to do much. Thanks to you! He is quick to get things finished. He sometimes day dreams or reads instead of working, but I never have an issue with unfinished work. I guess I do not have a lot of tips. That is a great thing though; I think he has come a long way.

Mrs. B

I COULD CRY! I love my Monkey! I am so glad he is enjoying school and doing so well. On another note - his behavior is mostly WONDERFUL. I limit red dyes as much as I can and have him on all natural vitamins every morning. Seriously this is all the change we've made to him. I've also been known to give him a little Coke when I need to make sure he remains calm....but not often as we never have soda in the house.

I'm a bad mother.....

While posting about motherhood no less then 5 minutes ago I realize....I didn't post about my son's birthday this month.

LittleMan turned 9 on the 3rd. He wanted to go bowling and to this indoor fun place. Okay whatever you want babe.

It was so funny bowling with these guys. They'd shout, pout and cheer for every spare or strike. We so have to go again. The Princess would get mad when she didn't knock them all down at once. Such dedication at an early age. LOL

LittleMan was just beside himself with all the things he could do and the choices. It was decleared the "Best birthday EVER." Not bad if I say so myself.

Here are some pictures. Aren't they cute.

Motherhood Photo

5 Minutes for mom is hosting a Photo Contest about motherhood for mother's day. We're to post a photo that says Motherhood to us.

I don't even know which one to start with. Pictures of my kids scream Mother to me. They are my kids after all. Then when I see pictures of others children I think Mother's too. Kids. They come from somewhere. They all mean something to someone. Motherhood changed my life. I don't look at things the same anymore (do any of us). I see a hurt or sad child my heart breaks. I read a moving story about a child and their mother I tear up. My baby sister finds out she is having a baby. I wonder at it all. So I submit this photo of my kids together. They are all smiling for once together. Aren't they sweet. The boys look so grown up and my daughter - oh my daughter. We almost didn't have her here with us. She's so fiesty and so sweet. These kids are my world. Even when I want to run away from home.
