My baby is FIVE!

She is such a bright a caring little girl. I hate that she is growing up so fast but I am so proud of her at the same time. This year has been a big one for her. She flew across country without batting an eye, she's overcome her extreme shyness, she's learned to write her ABC's and numbers, she's learned to read, her Daddy is leaving for the first time in her life soon and she is all ready for Kindergarden in a few months. She's a girly girl and a sporty girl. She's a friend to many. She's a Princess to more. She's got an opinion and isn't afriad to use it but still needs Mama cuddles after a long day. *Sigh* my baby girl is five today.

Double Digits

Ten years ago today we became parents for the first time. We had (and still don't) no clue what to do. He is our practice baby...that poor first born who gets everything tested out on him.

Doesn't look like a rough job but it has it's moments.

I couldn't ask for a better oldest son. Big brother to two. Keeper of Mommy's heart. Daddy's fishing buddy is growing up.
Now he is ten. Where'd the time go and where did this young man come from? Be still my beating heart. Let the fun began...we've gone double digits.

Happy Birthday Mommy's Little Man. I love you!

Happy 9th Birthday Ramsey Donner

Now what do you get a dog who has everything. He dislikes toys. Doesn't even mess with shoes. Does not care for doggy beds and come at him with a sweater and he is likely to bite you in the rear. SOO what DO you DO?

Well you give him a Ham Bone of course. DUH! Doesn't everyone know that. LOL

Doesn't that look yummy? (Let me tell you the ham that was on that is YUMMY!)

Nothing but the best for my baby. Off he goes as soon as he snagged it from daddy's hand.

He won't even look up for a picture. LOL That must be one yummy birthday treat.

"Awe mom! Okay I'm here - enough with the pictures. Can I go back to my ham bone now? Can I HUH HUH HUH???" Of course baby go enjoy. Happy Birthday Sweetie.

I can't believe it has been 9 Christmases since Little Man and I were at our friends house and their beautiful dog was having puppies. Ramsey is the best dog EVER!

Happy Birthday

To CHEF!!! Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeffffffffffff. Happy Birthday to you.

The man only wants one thing (no not that - well that but shh thats later). He wants CARROT CAKE. I figrue why not share it with you all too. Cause I am just all sweet like that you know.

So here's what you need: 2 c of flour , 2 c of sugar, 3 tsp of Cinnamon, 1 tsp of salt, 1 1/2 c veggie oil, 4 eggs, 3 c grated carrots, 1 c chopped nuts (we're using almonds) and 1 tsp of vanilla. If you are at a high alt (like me) I suggest adding an additional 4 tbls of flour. Yes I have more carrots then that but see by the time I thought to take picks I had already mixed them in. OPPS.

Shift all of the dry ingrediants together. Stir in the oil and adding one egg at a time mix well. Add in the carrots, nuts and vanilla and mix. Here it is....doesn't it look yummy. Well it obviously can't cook in this so...

"Hello lover. What do you have for me today?" I like to use this naughty little bunt pan for my carrot cake. It makes it look pretty and all fancy like. LOL We're all about fancy around here.

Much better. Now we can get cooking. At 350 degrees for about 60mins folks.

Oh man the poor bowl is feeling lonely now. Good thing I can resue her for the frosting later today.

I will be back to add on when the cake is finished baking and I get the frosting all made and the cake all dressed. No nekkid cakes around here please. So come on back!

I'M BACK!!!!!

Okay so on to the oh so yummy frosting. *drool*

Here's what you need. One 8oz pkg of Cream Cheese, 2 c of Powdered Sugar (yes it IS walmart brand - keeping it real here people), 1 tsp of vanilla extract and 2 tbls of butter.

Toss them together and mix well. (I use a glove to sqwish it all together cause a spoon ain't cutting it) Here you have it. Makes a lot I tell you.

Slap that sucker on top of the cool carrot cake (I have done it while still warm before - it just makes the frosting nice and runny - which is all good too) Chef and I don't do sweets all that much so thats why there doesn't seem to be a ton of frosting on the cake - there isn't and it's okay if you're into that you can add more. Sprinkled some of the extra carrots on top.

Look at that baby. YUM!

Well off to celebrate Chef's bday with him. Have a great Friday y'all.
